Weekly Inspiration Interview - Sallykate Photography

I'm particularly excited to share this interview as I am partnering with this fabulous lady to do the best workshop ever in just a few months. So, read below to get to know Sallykate and then check out our upcoming Limitless Workshop.
How long have you been shooting and what inspired you to begin with?
I've been shooting since late 2010, after my fifth child was born.  I was inspired by a lot of different things, but a large part of that was a blog I was following, Enjoying the Small Things by Kelle Hampton.  Her inspiring story, peppered with colorful photographs that illustrated her tale so beautifully, got me wanting to do the same.
What is your current favorite image and why?
That's almost impossible to answer, because that changes almost daily, sometimes two or three times daily. :-)  But I guess I can pick an image from one of my favorite SHOOTS - a "bohemian" themed shoot, inspired by a fairy-tale book I found at an antiques market.  { shoot of girls' feet through bed frames, see fairy tale book}
Describe your work in three or four words.
whimsical, colorful, lively, expressive
What is in your camera bag and favorite lens to shoot with?
I've had lots of fancy, fashionable camera bags, and I sold them all in favor of my very practical Tamrac Backpack.  I love the backpack.  I can fit everything in there and I've gotten good at doing all my shooting acrobatics without having to take it off.
How/Where do you find your inspiration and creativity?
Everywhere.  I'm always looking.  Every aisle at the store, every line of poetry, every story I read to my kids, every random thought that pops in my head.  Anything has the potential to blossom into a full-blown idea if the spark catches at just the right moment.
What are your current goals?
I'm currently writing an online workshop, and planning two more in-person workshops for 2015.  So excited to inspire others to break past "safe" and explore creative, fun photography.
One word of wisdom that you would like to offer or encouragement to fellow photographers?  As far as business goes, the "fun" of being in business will fade.  Do not de-value yourself just because you're getting paid for having fun.  It's still a job.  But as far as photography goes, don't EVER let that get less fun.  Always be willing to learn new things, try new things, reach new goals.
